Who knew it was possible to eat this much cake? We are super impressed by all of you who stuffed yourselves silly at The Mad Cake-Off. On both days, we sold out (120 tickets)!
This event was part of the Design & Food Weekend we hosted in collaboration with our office neighbours, FindersKeepers. In a "secret garden" suspended above the market, it was a sweet-toothed celebration of cakeiness, and definitely not a menu for the faint hearted.
Design items from stallholders in the market—such as glasses, flower arrangements, cushions and crockery—were part of the event.
We chose five cakes from Strangas and Leckerbaer, and served them together with Bageriet Brød and Arla Unika "Bolle Med Ost" and Teministeriet tea. No afternoon tea party is complete without gin, and the sweet meeting of Copenhagen Distillery's orange gin and FATDANE's sparkling rhubarb was the perfect accomplice to all that cake!
We're all friends here, but it wouldn't be a cake-off if there wasn't a winner. Hidden under guests' plates were voting cards, so we could find and crown the winning cake. It was the "White 'n' Dreamy" (officially, "White Dream") that truly stole the hearts of our guests, though the competition was fierce!
Thanks to everyone who came to Design & Food Weekend, and of course to everyone who joined us at The Mad Cake-Off. We had a lot of fun!
